1. About This Page
This page outlines the terms governing your use of services provided by Premier Notary Firm of Michigan, LLC ("Premier Notary Firm," "we," "us," or "our"), how we handle your personal information, and disclosures required under the Michigan Law on Notarial Acts (MiLONA), MCL 55.261 et seq.
By scheduling a notarization, signing appointment, or otherwise engaging our services, you agree to the terms below.
2. Terms of Service
2.1 Nature of Services
Premier Notary Firm of Michigan provides notarial acts, including but not limited to acknowledgments, jurats, remote online notarizations (RON), and loan signing agent services, in accordance with Michigan law.
**We are not attorneys. Premier Notary Firm of Michigan is not a law firm, and our notaries are not licensed attorneys. We cannot give legal advice, prepare legal documents, select the correct legal document for your situation, or explain the legal effect of any document you sign. If you need legal advice, please consult a licensed attorney.
2.2 Fees
In accordance with Michigan law (MCL 55.285), the fee charged for a notarial act shall not exceed $10.00 per individual transaction or notarial act. This fee will be disclosed to you, either by posted notice or verbally, before the notarial act is performed.
A separate travel fee may apply when a notary travels to your location, and will be agreed upon with you in advance. Per Michigan law, no travel fee is charged for remote online notarizations where no travel occurs.
2.3 Scheduling, Cancellations & Rescheduling
Notice Required: General Notary Work appointments may be canceled or rescheduled at no charge if notice is provided at least two (2) hours before the scheduled appointment time. Loan Signing appointments may be canceled or rescheduled at no charge if notice is provided at least twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled appointment time.
General Notary Work
Travel Fee: A non-refundable travel fee is required at the time of booking for all mobile General Notary Work appointments. The standard travel fee is $25.00 and includes travel within ten (10) miles (one way) of Premier Notary Firm of Michigan. Appointments requiring travel beyond ten (10) miles (one way) are subject to an additional charge of $0.76 per mile (round trip). Any additional travel charges will be disclosed and agreed upon prior to confirming the appointment.
The travel fee is separate from the statutory notarial fee authorized under Michigan law and compensates Premier Notary Firm of Michigan for travel time and related expenses. The travel fee is earned once travel has been scheduled and/or commenced and is non-refundable, except where otherwise required by law or expressly stated in these Terms.
Late Cancellations: If a General Notary Work appointment is canceled after travel has been scheduled or has already begun, the prepaid travel fee remains non-refundable. No additional cancellation fee will be charged for General Notary Work appointments.
Mobile appointments are not considered confirmed until the required travel fee has been received.
Loan Signing Appointments
Loan signing appointments require advance scheduling, document printing, preparation, and coordination with title companies, lenders, escrow companies, signing services, or direct clients. Due to the time and resources reserved for these appointments, cancellations, requests to reschedule, or no-shows received less than twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled appointment are subject to a cancellation fee up to $75.00 .
The cancellation fee is intended to compensate Premier Notary Firm of Michigan for reserved appointment time, document preparation, printing costs, and/or travel expenses associated with the scheduled appointment. The fee will be based on how far the appointment has progressed at the time of cancellation and will not exceed $75.00.
If Premier Notary Firm of Michigan has printed the loan package, traveled to the appointment location, or otherwise incurred expenses in preparation for the appointment, and the signing cannot be completed because the signer is unavailable, declines to sign, lacks acceptable identification, is unable or unwilling to proceed, or the appointment otherwise cannot be completed for reasons outside Premier Notary Firm of Michigan's control, Premier Notary Firm of Michigan reserves the right to assess the applicable cancellation fee authorized under the applicable client agreement, service agreement, or written booking agreement.
Remote Online Notarization (RON) Appointments
Remote Online Notary (RON) appointments reserve notary time and incur platform-related costs.
If the signer fails to appear for the scheduled session, is unable to successfully complete the required identity verification, experiences client-side technical issues, or the notarization cannot be completed for reasons outside Premier Notary Firm of Michigan's control, the $15.00 RON session fee is non-refundable.
If the appointment cannot be completed solely due to an issue caused by Premier Notary Firm of Michigan or its selected RON platform, no cancellation fee will be charged, and the appointment will be rescheduled at no additional charge whenever reasonably possible.
Service Area
Premier Notary Firm of Michigan provides mobile notary services within approximately twenty-five (25) miles of ZIP Code 48111.
Appointments outside the standard service area may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to additional travel fees. Any additional travel charges will be disclosed and agreed upon before the appointment is confirmed.
Additional Policies
Cancellation fees and prepaid travel fees are non-transferable and may not be applied toward future appointments unless Premier Notary Firm of Michigan, in its sole discretion, agrees otherwise.
Premier Notary Firm of Michigan reserves the right to waive or modify cancellation fees or prepaid travel fee requirements on a case-by-case basis.
Premier Notary Firm of Michigan reserves the right to update these scheduling, travel, and cancellation policies from time to time. Any revisions will apply only to future appointments and will not affect appointments that have already been confirmed unless otherwise agreed in writing by the parties.

2.4 Identification Requirements
All signers must present valid, government-issued photo identification at the time of the notarial act, in accordance with Michigan law. We reserve the right to decline to perform a notarial act if a signer's identity cannot be satisfactorily verified, or if we have reason to believe a transaction is fraudulent, coerced, or otherwise improper.
2.5 Right to Refuse Service
As permitted under Michigan law, a notary public may refuse to perform a notarial act. Premier Notary Firm of Michigan reserves the right to decline any notarization at the notary's discretion, including but not limited to situations involving suspected fraud, incomplete documents, questionable signer capacity, or documents outside the scope of Michigan notarial authority.
2.6 Limitation of Liability
Premier Notary Firm of Michigan performs notarial acts only and does not guarantee the legal sufficiency, accuracy, or outcome of any document notarized. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Premier Notary Firm of Michigan and its notaries shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services, except as required under our notary bond and Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance coverage.
2.7 No Guarantee of Document Acceptance
Although Premier Notary Firm of Michigan performs notarial acts in accordance with Michigan law, we cannot guarantee that any receiving agency, lender, court, title company, or other third party will accept a notarized document. Acceptance decisions are made solely by the receiving entity.
2.8 Bond & Insurance Disclosure
Premier Notary Firm of Michigan is bonded and carries Errors & Omissions (E&O) General Notary and Loan Signing Agent insurance. Proof of coverage may be provided when appropriate for business clients or contracting entities.
3. Privacy Policy
3.1 Information We Collect
In the course of providing notarial services, we may collect:
- Your name, address, phone number, and email address
- Copies or images of government-issued identification, as required to complete a notarial act
- Signature and, for remote online notarizations, audio-visual recordings of the notarial session
- Information contained in the documents you present for notarization
3.2 How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to:
- Perform and document the requested notarial act, as required by Michigan law
- Maintain records of notarial acts (if a journal is kept)
- Communicate with you regarding scheduling and services
- Comply with legal, regulatory, or insurance/bonding requirements
3.3 Remote Online Notarization (RON) Disclosure
If your notarization is performed remotely, Michigan law requires us to disclose the following:
- An audio and visual recording of the notarial act **will be made**.
- The recording will be preserved [for a minimum of 10 years through our RON platform provider].
- By proceeding with a remote notarization, you consent to this recording. If you do not consent, we are unable to perform the notarization remotely, and an in-person appointment may be arranged instead.
3.4 How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Title companies, lenders, signing services, or other parties directly involved in the transaction you've engaged us for
- Our RON platform provider, as necessary to complete a remote notarization
- Regulatory authorities or law enforcement, if required by law
3.5 Data Retention & Security
We retain notarial records and identifying information only as long as necessary to comply with Michigan record-keeping practices and our own business/insurance requirements, and we take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.
3.6 Your Choices
You may contact us at any time with questions about the information we hold or to request its deletion where not otherwise required to be retained by law.
4. Michigan Notary Disclosures
In accordance with the Michigan Law on Notarial Acts (MiLONA), MCL 55.261 et seq.:
- Premier Notary Firm of Michigan and its notaries are commissioned by the Michigan Secretary of State and act as public servants when performing notarial acts.
-Statutory Fee: The fee for a notarial act will not exceed $10.00 per transaction, as required under MCL 55.285(7).
- No Immigration/Legal Advice: I am not an attorney and have no authority to give advice on immigration or other legal matters.
- Premier Notary Firm of Michigan does not use, and will not represent itself using, the term "notario público" or any equivalent term, in accordance with MCL 55.291(6).
- A notary public may refuse to perform a notarial act as permitted under Michigan law.
